Sticks and Stones
One of the first from this revisited series. For this work there is no mapped out construction or design. I simply covered the entire surface with rounded stones and then approached it purely as a painting. X's and O's are always appealing to me, but they can become too automatic if they are created too often. But this one was
spontaneous and was a good way to shed previous ways of working and start anew.
The title refers to that moment when one is completely immersed in one's work to such a degree that your mouth drops open in wonder despite knowing how ridiculous you must look.
